Our Commitment To Excellence

What Wrestling Teaches Girls that other Sports Don't

At Rise and Wrestle, we believe wrestling teaches girls something the world doesn’t always give them naturally: confidence earned through hard work.

Wrestling is different from every other sport. There’s no bench to hide on, no one else to take the pressure, and no teammate who can win the match for you. Every practice, every challenge, and every victory belongs to the athlete standing on the mat. That kind of accountability builds strong girls who grow into strong women.

Wrestling teaches girls how to be resilient, disciplined, fearless, and confident under pressure. It teaches them that strength is something to be proud of — not something to shrink away from. They learn how to push through hard moments, recover from setbacks, and keep showing up even when things get tough.

At Rise and Wrestle, our athletes learn more than takedowns and technique. They learn leadership. They learn grit. They learn how to trust themselves. They learn that being powerful, competitive, and driven is something to celebrate.

Most importantly, they become part of a community of girls lifting each other up while becoming tougher, stronger, and more confident together.

Because wrestling doesn’t just build athletes.

It builds girls who know they can handle hard things.

Who is wrestling for?

We strive to provide a safe, inclusive environment where every girl, regardless of skill level, race, ethnic background, religious beliefs, sexual preferences or physical abilities will be accepted and appreciated. Wrestling is fun, but it is also a difficult sport; any girl willing to come to practice and do the work will earn, and be shown, the proper respect. We are excited to welcome all to our community.

Is wrestling worth it?

Why should your kid try wrestling?

There are a lot of activities competing for your daughter’s time. Wrestling stands apart. It builds confidence, discipline, resilience, and strength in ways few other sports can. At Rise & Wrestle, we believe every girl deserves the chance to discover just how strong she really is. Here are seven reasons wrestling can make a lasting impact on your daughter’s life:

1. Confidence That Shows Up Everywhere Nothing builds belief like stepping on the mat and earning it.

2. Real Mental Toughness Wrestlers learn how to push through hard things—and keep going.

3. Total-Body Strength Speed, power, balance, and endurance all come together in wrestling.

4. Discipline That Carries Into Life Hard work on the mat builds habits that show up in school and beyond.

5. Accountability On the mat, effort matters. Wrestlers learn to own their work and their progress.

6. A Team That Pushes You Higher Wrestling may be individual competition, but no one grows alone.

7. Empowerment Girls discover they are stronger, tougher, and more capable than they ever imagined.
